“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:12-14)
Congratulations Bridgeway! We have made it to the last day of our fast! What a powerful time we have experienced together, pressing into the Lord as we prepare to minister to those who are in need of a touch from Jesus. Let’s take a quick look at all that was accomplished as we partnered with the Holy Spirit through our fast. Together, we allowed the Lord to give us clearer pictures of who he is and we embraced his truths about us as we allowed him to reveal more about our identities in him. We asked the Holy Spirit to help us sanctify our “temples” through confessing and renouncing sin in our lives and forgiving others. We invited the Holy Spirit to be the ruling and reigning spirit in our lives and fill us with power. As we looked at healing, we petitioned for the Holy Spirit to grow our faith and increase our authority that we might be conduits through which he flows to bring freedom to others through healing. Putting on our armor of God, we explored the different ways we are equipped and called to destroy the works of the devil in our lives and the lives of those around us. Through worship we focused our eyes on our Heavenly Father who is the power source. And finally, we have been interceding for those who are coming tonight who need a miraculous touch from God.
We remember how Jesus went into his fast filled with the Holy Spirit. After he finished his forty days and overcame the temptation of the devil, he was filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. From this place, he launched his ministry of healing the sick, cleansing the lepers, making the blind see, raising the dead, and casting out demons. We can trust that through our fast, we too receive a measure of power, just like Jesus. And we can have faith that God will move mightily through us to bring freedom to those who need to be healed and delivered.
As we take time today to be in God’s presence during these final hours of the fast, let us once again come boldly before the throne of God and ask him to fill us with his power. Let us submit ourselves fully to the Lord as yielded vessels ready for the work he has set apart for us to do. Tonight, whether we are coming to minister or be ministered to, remember we serve a good God who deeply loves his kids. In him, ALL things are possible. He is the almighty, all powerful, miracle-working God. Through Jesus, we have been given the authority to heal. Take time to fuel your faith once again through reading the accounts of Jesus’ miracles. Remind yourself of the ways he has been faithful in your life and the lives of those around you. Most importantly, come expectant for God to heal. God has not changed. He is still in the business of doing miracles and he loves to partner with us to accomplish them. Let us end our fast interceding for the Lord to open the floodgates of heaven to release miracles, signs, and wonders through us and for us.
Listening Prayer:
Ask the Holy Spirit how he wants you to intercede in the last few hours of the fast. Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of the ways God has answered your prayers in the past. Ask him to show you how he wants to partner with you as you conclude the fast. Pray as he directs.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, we thank you for the time we set apart to fast and focus on you. We praise you for all the ways you sifted us and refined us. We thank you that you love us so much that you never leave us as we are, but are always pursuing us in ways that help us to become more like you. We recognize that apart from you, we can do nothing in our own power to save, heal, deliver, or bring freedom. But when we partner with you, anything is possible. Holy Spirit, we ask that tonight you move in miraculous ways. We offer you our mustard seed of faith and ask you to empower us to move mountains. As we seek your help and pray for people who desperately need a miracle, we pray you would help us to keep our eyes on you, the all-powerful, almighty God. May all sicknesses be healed, all oppression cease, all bondages break, and the lost be saved. We ask that you move through each one of us in miracles, signs, and wonders. May these become a normal part of our everyday Christian life from this day forward. Lord, have your way tonight. May heaven come and invade earth through our prayers.
Resource: Bible Verses on Miracles, Signs and Wonders
“And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs. (Mark 16:17-20)
“For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.” (Acts 2:42-43)
“For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to bring the Gentiles to obedience—by word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God—so that from Jerusalem and all the way around to Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ;” (Romans 15:18-19)
