Now that we are filled with the Holy Spirit and have asked to be filled with power, we need to build those faith muscles and step out of our comfort zone to pray for all kinds of needs. We can pray powerful commanding prayers knowing that Jesus has given us the authority in his name to heal the sick and set the oppressed free. We will touch on what Jesus challenged those of us who follow him to do. We will look at what role faith plays in healing as well as some of the different ways Jesus modeled what it looked like to heal. During the days leading up to Worship Prayer and Healing Night, let us fuel our faith and expectations by reading through the gospels and pouring over all the miracles recorded that Jesus did. He said greater things than this will we do (John 14:12-14), which shows where to place our anticipation. May our desire to pray for those who need any kind of healing (physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual) increase as we explore what the Bible says about healing this week. Let’s unite as a church body to contend in prayer for healing miracles to increase more and more each week.
