Thinking about going on a mission?
If you are considering joining a Bridgeway Mission, we are so thrilled that your heart is being moved and you’re willing to step out in faith to follow the call in your life. We are here to stand with you, equip you and support you in answering this call. “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” (Psalm 82:3-4 ESV) After considering the following, please submit an application to be considered for a mission. Please allow time until after mission deadlines to be contacted by your leader to pursue the interview and team selection process. We look forward to sharing this journey with you as you help to change the world.
Each mission requires a $200 refundable (conditional) deposit.
Why are you considering missions?
Missions is more than a trip, an experience, or an opportunity, it’s a complete sacrifice of oneself and the willingness to partner and laydown your life for a brother or sister for the purpose of Love. This means laying aside cultural differences, comforts of the living we may be accustom to, being open and adapting to living situations abroad and the needs at hand, serving in unity, encountering spiritual oppression and darkness and responding biblically, loving with no bounds, and partnering with those who are already doing God’s work.
Are you spiritually mature?
Do you have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and reflect the love of Christ on to others? Are you confident in His word and sharing it with others? Are you dependent on prayer and committed to knowing more of God each day and enjoy being in the fellowship of others? Are you willing to use your gifts and spiritual knowledge to pray for others, share the hope in Christ, and follow under the advice of your leadership? Are you ready to be stretched, broken, and challenged?
Are you willing to commit more than just two weeks?
Going on a two-week mission can be amazing, exhausting, heart breaking, spiritually awakening, and life changing. However, this process begins once you are feeling the call or desire to join a mission. It begins with prayer, commitment, financial obligation and faith, team meetings, openness and desire to culturally learn, accountability to grow spiritually and prepare oneself, and follow-through. After this process comes the mission, and after the mission comes the follow through to debrief, and to share what you’ve seen and know and continue to do something.
Do you fit?
Aside from spiritual preparedness, the most important factor is team unity. Can you work with your fellow missionary team? Can you work with the host ministry team? “I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.” John 17:23
If this sounds like the commitment, growth, faith and journey you are being called to we encourage you to apply above.
